From Chrysti Love:

Cecile Blount and her husband, Paul, were great folks. They joined in 1990 and by 1997 Cecile had accepted the job of State Secretary. When Paul passed in 1999, she wanted to continue as Secretary. The friends of the Cushman Club supported her through her grief and provided a purposeful diversion. Many people have  story to share. Cile loved to thank Raymond, my husband, for giving one of her grandsons a ride on his Cushman. The boy thought he would never get to ride again since his granddad had passed. Small acts of kindness that remain the best way to encourage.

Your State Secretary has so much responsibility for the continuation of the club. Jill Wadlow, Gene Sargent, Bill Mills, and Cecile Blount all served in this capacity.

In 1997, Cecile began her 17 years of serving our club. She took this seriously. By spending devoted time on membership rolls, attending meeting and keeping minutes, plus attending events, Cecile created a wonderful record of our club’s history. When I took the responsibility, I also received a pickup load of boxes – old state meet records, magazines, newsletters, patches, and the treasured 5×8 original memebership notebooks. So much history that when I began to create the history tab on the website, I just had to search through my treasures.

We will miss this lady – Cile Blount.

  1. Thank you so much for your kind words Chrysti, Mom loved everything and everyone with the Cushman Club, it really was very helpful for her, after our dad passed away, to still be involved with something they both enjoyed so much. She said it as an honor to be the Secretary of the Texas Cushman Club for those many years.
    Thank You
    Terry Blount
