2025 Aransas Pass

The 2025 Aransas Pass / Corpus Christi Ride  : November 13 – 16

We gathered at the host Hotel, Microtel, in Aransas Pass for the Early Bird Dinner at 6:00 PM. We drove over to Coasters on Conn Brown Harbor and enjoyed a wonderful dinner of seafood options, with risotto, and asparagus, fried, blackened and grilled shrimp. Debi Goode was adopted by a beautiful cat, who sat patiently at her feet until she finally decided to share her fish dinner! Mama Kitty made the rounds and left us to go tend her 5 kittens waiting just outside the door.

November 14th we ate hotel breakfast while we visited with Homer Schilling and after visiting time we headed to Goose Island State Park to view THE BIG TREE. We have seen it many times but we can’t go to the coast without seeing the Big Tree. Several of the group members walked around the tree and are sure that it looks younger and healthier from the back side view. (Wish that we could say the same for ourselves!)

The BIG TREE

After leaving the BIG TREE we rode to Copano Bay and Fulton Beach for lunch at Charlotte Plumbers.

We decided to cut the ride short because several scooters were have technical difficulties but not before we stopped at Dairy Queen for ice cream. Have you noticed we almost always stop for ice cream?

Thanks to Richard Kesselus for leading the ride this day. And Thank you to Jerry Krenek and Diane Hybner for driving chase (they really earned that non-existing salary!)

Saturday, Nov 15th Tommy and Debi Goode headed for home because Tommy wasn’t feeling well. So a huge thanks to Tom Roddy who led the Saturday ride.  Tom took us on a beautiful ride down the beach, down Mustang Island and then onto the new Harbor Bridge. It was amazing. The group rode under it and saw all the supports. Quite a feat of engineering. The group ate at The Captain’s Diner for lunch.

This Corpus Ride is always a favorite for many members. We’ve been rained out, ridden in COLD/HOT weather, had windy and/or muggy weather, but I can’t remember having a more glorious day. It was perfect. Wish you could have been there!

Tommy and I would like to thank the following for their participation:

James and Jane Press; Diane Hybner and Jerry Krenek; Richard Kesselus;

Tom Roddy and wife (I don’t have her name)
