Texas has new antique license tag rules

Please check on the status of your tags with your local license tag office. Raymond and I have been waiting for our antique license tag renewal to come in the mail. After a call to our county tax assessor, we have learned the 5 years antique tag has a new application form. We had to go in to the office with our tag numbers, insurance verification, and a checkbook. Texas is now changing to a 12 month program instead of all the tags being due in March. They renew with the current month and for 5 years.

Don’t let your tags expire!

Below is the form link.

Services:

Danny Vaughn Rhea
Danny Rhea, 70, went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 19, 2018. The pain and suffering he has had for so long is finally over. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Belmore Baptist Church. Officiated by Brother Toby Irwin with Pastor Rusty Frasier and Richard Sweaney assisting. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Danny was born at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio on October 25, 1947. His dad was career Air Force, so they moved around a lot. He joined the Navy on the Buddy System in March 1967. We married during his leave from boot camp on June 17, 1967 at Belmore Baptist Church and began our journey together. Upon discharge from the Navy, he attended Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
While attending college he worked for Spradley Signs, which he enjoyed. He entered the Texas Department of Public Safety in 1976, beginning his career as a Highway Patrolman. He transferred to License and Weight, and then to Criminal Law Enforcement before becoming a Texas Ranger in 1988. As a Texas Ranger he was stationed in Ozona for five years, then transferred to Sulphur Springs where he ended his career and retired in 2003. He was dedicated to his work and was respected by those who worked alongside him. He always said he had the best bosses and the best job.
Danny was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with our children and was very good to them both. Our son began a twenty-year career in the Coast Guard after high school. Our daughter went off to college, then attended cosmetology school and married. Danny always hated to see them leave after they came home to visit. He was also very proud of our grandsons and wanted to spend more time with them. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and for a time he raised sheep. He couldn’t do much, but enjoyed being out in his shop piddling around. He liked staying busy and always had a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.W. and Laverne Rhea.
Danny is survived by his wife of fifty years, Wynonna Sue; son, Devin Rhea; daughter, Carissa Mouton and her husband Eric; grandsons, Dawson and Channing Mouton; his sister, Kimberlee Mikeska; nephew, Noel Mikeska; and niece, Danica Brown and her husband Bill and their sons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Rangers Foundation.

Happy New Year!

As this years ends, I am updating the membership list. We have 194 members as of today. The membership was at 249 before I removed those who didn’t renew.
The Calendar of Events has been updated also. It is early in the year but I like to get my calendar marked for Cushman rides early.  We don’t want to miss any chance to visit, ride,  and eat with our friends.  The Calendar is a work in progress and can be edited to include more rides or to correct information.
