The weather forecast showed “Rain” and it was right! But it didn’t stop Ben and Gene Sargent, Pete and Sharon Henderson, and James and Jane Press from pulling into the Expo Center, Abilene campground.
Don Paige reports:
“We did two “radar ” rides:”
Got caught in rain on the way home and was soaked!
Friday we rode out in the country about 50 miles.
Weather was good. Went to Rositas for lunch and canceled afternoon ride because of weather.
We were joined Friday by Berry and Myrna Loy Smith and Gary Mathies.”
On Saturday, Ben and Gene, Bill and Mary Tate, Jack Hadlock and Don Paige all attended the funeral of Jerry Johnson.
Don and Judy Henry represented the club by riding in the West Texas Fair Parade. They are real troopers.
Another “remember Abilene WHEN it rained” Cushman friend’s story to share.
Jerry Johnson of Abilene passed away on August 18, 2018. Funeral service will be Saturday the 8th at First Central Presbyterian
Church in Abilene. (Don Paige sent this update.)
Jerry and Ann joined the club in 1984 and took part in many activities. The “Hardly Dangerous” group were some of the many friends Raymond and I meet through this wonderful club.
Our condolences to the family.
