Judy and Don Henry, Jack Hadlock. Bill Tate, Eric Underwood, Don Paige, Sean Irby, and daughter Jill Hobbs. This year’s West Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade was iffy with rain starting around 7 am, but the rain lighten up and we were able to complete the parade before a good crowd.
Afterward we enjoyed lunch at Cotton Patch with Roy and Joellen Stanley 😍joining us along with Judy’s brother Tommy Homer and Sean’s daughter’s family and Mary Tate. A special treat was Jill’s daughter Cheyenne Hobbs, who just moved back from studying in Scotland joined them for lunch. Everyone is welcomed at a Cushman event!
On Saturday, Sept. 6, the Cushman scooters will be lining up at 9:30 for the annual West Texas Fair Parade. Following lunch and weather permitting, we will have an afternoon ride.
September 1 is the mailing deadline for your registration to the 43rd State Meet. IF you don’t plan on attending, you need to send in your renewal paperwork and check for $30.00. The new year begins Oct. 4, 2025 at the end of the State Meet.

Don Stewart bought the first Cushman for his son, Mike, in approximately 1963. Mike, TCC # 312, was joined by Martin Stafford, TCC #269, and Raymond Love, TCC #839, to ride the pasture roads around the Midway Community in Dawson County, Tx.
By 1988 Mike had found the Texas Cushman Club and began to invite his dad, Don, and then Raymond to “come see what I’m doing”. The Cushman people became extended family for Don and his wife Martha. Their shop and home was open for many West Texas area meetings.
Don, Mike, Raymond and Chrysti attended many Cushman events where they rode and made lifelong friends.
Don and Martha remained members of the club even when their health restricted their activities.
