Update on Your Texas Cushman Club

The Board of Directors made several decisions on August 27, 2020.

A letter will be mailed on September 8 to all members. This is to inform you of the State Meet cancellation and the three motions passed.

  1.  A general election was scheduled to be held at the State Meet. With no meet, the serving officers were asked to continue serving for the next year. President Richard Kesselus has served 2 years  as president. He agreed to continue as president. Larry Freeze will remain as Vice President. The 3 Board of Directors who were scheduled to rotate off were Raymond Love, James Press, and Frank Turbeville. They each accepted another year.
  2. A freeze was placed on the dues. In a year when the only ride held was the Possum Kingdom ride in June, the Board decided you needed a “Do Over”.  All memberships were “frozen” which means you will receive another year’s membership as a gift. ( Tommy Goode will accept donations to the club if you want to help recover the loss of funds.)  If you have sent a check to Chrysti Love, it will be returned within this letter.  The price of this gift and no state meet is there WILL NOT be a color magazine issued this fall. The next newsletter will be published in February 2021. There will be a Calendar of Events for 2021 included in that mailing. Then in July 2021, another newsletter will be published with the articles about the spring rides and the State Meet information.
  3. The 2021 State meet will be held in Abilene on October 11-16, 2021. The motion made and passed increased the meet from 3 days to 6 days.

Be sure to watch your mail for this important letter. Contact Chrysti Love for a missing letter or an corrections.

Here’s to a better year in 2021.

2020 State meet has been cancelled

CANCELLED MEET- From Richard Kesselus:

Texas Cushman Club Inc. 38th State meet to be held in Wichita Falls has been cancelled. The Board of Directors tonight have made the tough decision to cancel the meet due to the regulation imposed on society in Texas to be safe with the infection rate of Covid -19 Pandemic. It is the right decision but with heavy hearts that we made the decision. We now understand the disappointment of all who have made the same decision. Stay Safe

Chrysti Love will be mailing a letter to all members explaining the decision.

Jerry Wayne and Mary Ann Harbour joined the Texas Cushman Club in 1995. Their membership number was # 793.

The accident that took his life and the lives of 2 others was tragic. Our local paper published this article. https://sanangelolive.com/news/crashes/2020-07-20/drunk-illegal-alien-plows-police-bikers-club-killing-three

A sample of Jerry’s love of life was sent by Les and Janie Wilson. Enjoy.

Rest In Peace
