For a change, the Concho Valley and Big Country Clubs chose to change their annual Christmas party to a New Year’s Eve party. James and Barbara Perry offered to host the meeting at their home in Lubbock. It was a central location for Abilene, San Angelo, and Amarillo. Our Central Texas areas were represented also.

James and Jane Press, Don and Judy Henry, Bill and Belinda Beck, John and Gloria Henslee, Martin and Jane Stafford, Sharon Henderson, James and Barbara Perry, Gene and Ginny Perry, Larry and Karen Rose, Joe and Joyce Faltinek, Ben and Gene Sargent, Berry and Myrna Loy Smith, Pete Henderson, Larry and Ginger Freeze, (center chairs) Raymond and Chrysti Love. Photo taken by Amy Faltinek.

31 people enjoyed bar-b-que brisket, potato salad, beans, and all the trimmings. James had the help of his brother Gene and his wife Ginny plus in-laws, Tom and Shirley.
The following are snapshots of the dinner in progress.

Our Chinese Christmas brought out some interesting gifts and laughs. There is always fun with this group.
Don Henry recapped 2019 events. PLEASE make your reservations ASAP for the Big Bend ride in April. See the Calendar of Events page for phone numbers and all the dates for next year’s event.
Don Henry suggested we might play games and enjoy celebrating the New Year’s beginning. Some just hoped to stay awake until 9:00. No games but there were so many friends to visit and catch up with that we stayed until 10:00. It was decided it was 12:00 midnight somewhere. So with “Happy New Year” wishes, we departed for the night.
A BIG thank you to James and Barbara Perry. It was a wonderful party. Our hotel, La Quinta Lubbock North was both convenient and and newly renovated.

With promising weather and seafood in the forecast, we had 37 people in Aransas Pass this last weekend. Don Henry and Homer Schelling planned 3 days of rides and meals.
On Thursday 16 scooters left the Micro Tel hotel for Goose Island.

Lunch was a stop at Charlotte Plummer’s resturant in Rockport.
Then THE NECESSARY Ice Cream stop in Fulton, Tx.

Thursday night John and Barbara Allbright served a meal in their home in Aransas Pass. 29 people enjoyed gumbo, beans, rice and all the desserts you could hold! Margaret Hoese and Howaida Vasquez also joined the group.

Friday morning, 18 scooters were in line for the ride to Port Aransas and Corpus Christi. Lunch was Doc’s or Snoopy’s.

Dinner was at Fisherman’s Daughter. The food was again great and the dessert was white chocolate bread pudding. (And, yes, Don did share!)

Saturday’s ride was a lot of miles. The Aransas National Wildlife Refuge was the destination of 12 scooters.

These are special people who were there from Devine, Tx. TCC #25, Hazel and William Davis. Our club was begun because the first 30 members had a dream of preserving Cushman Scooters. William rode his scooter on Thursday and Friday. He and Hazel drove chase vehicle on Saturday. The “Caution: Cushman Scooters” is on the back of his trailer.

Thanks to Debi Goode, Richard Kesselus, and Chrysti Love for the photos.
